Joseph and George...
This is the story of Joseph’s wish, made possible with the generous support of the Charley Foundation and Dr. Dennis Wells. Joseph is a beautiful, blonde 4-year old boy from Fairview, Tennessee, who has histiocytosis, a serious blood disorder that is treated with chemotherapy. Joseph loves dogs and playing outdoors, and wished to have a terrier of his very own to play with him and his brother and sister outside. When told that he’d get his wish, his Mom said that Joseph “was so excited and couldn’t wait to meet the puppy.” The family had picked out a medium sized breed – a soft wheaton terrier, and Joseph had already picked out a name for his dog – George.

As the days went by in preparation for George’s arrival, his family reported that Joseph loved watching the contractors build the fence for his puppy. And then George arrived. Not only did the wish day involve meeting his new puppy, but Joseph got to take George on a shopping spree as well! Mom says, “Joseph loved going shopping on the day we got George. We went to PetSmart with George (so exciting for Joseph!) and picked out his collar, leash and nametag. It was an exciting day getting Geroge, and then shopping with him! Joseph loves being with him every day.” The wish also came complete with a fenced enclosure, veterinary services, obedience training, and dogfood for a year. Joseph’s Mom Faith says “We love George so much, and the fence is wonderful to have to allow him to run and be safe with the kids. Thank you for all that you’ve done for Joseph.”
